Research in art and design is carried out in the world renowned Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) based at our dedicated campus in Harrow.
The centre boasts an excellent research track record and an energetic and expanding team. Its members include internationally renowned artists, filmmakers, photographers, ceramicists, theorists, critics, historians, designers and musicians. CREAM focuses on critical and cross-disciplinary approaches. Whilst its individual members cover a wide range of subject areas and expertise, cross-connections between areas are encouraged.
Key impacts have been made in the realms of civil society, cultural life and public discourse in Indonesia and elsewhere internationally through the Genocide and Genre film research project, a decade of leading theory-based ceramic arts practice, and strategies for the creative adaptation for screen of stage productions of theatre and opera, notably at the BBC.
