This stream of research looks at how the legal professions are regulated and disciplined, and the sociological effects and contexts of such regulation. Legal professional regulation is currently a frequently developing area – members of the centre have published research dealing with these changes and contributed to this changing landscape though publications on, and dialogue with, regulators and representative bodies. Research has focused on solicitors, barristers, legal executives and mediators, as well as those falling outside the reach of regulation.
