Global Mobility Surveys privacy statement

This privacy statement relates specifically to students engaging with the services of the Global Mobility Team. This includes international students on our Semester, Full Year and Summer Study Abroad and Exchange programmes and University of Westminster students studying and working abroad during their degree. Additionally, as students at the University of Westminster, our Student Data privacy statement will also apply to the use of personal information whilst you are studying with us

Confidentiality

The University of Westminster takes its data protection obligations seriously. All University staff receive compulsory data protection training.

Access to any personal information you provide us when participating in any of our Global Mobility surveys is subject to a staff confidentiality agreement. Access to your personal information is limited by permissions to only those individuals who need access to assess and develop the delivery of our Global Mobility services and events, and to create and disseminate aggregate reports based on your survey feedback.

Your personal data

Students will have the opportunity to complete and submit survey responses to provide feedback on the services provided by the Global Mobility team while studying with the University of Westminster at home or abroad. Your feedback will be used by the wider Global Mobility team to assess the impact of our services and help improve the experiences of future students

The legal basis for the University to process your personal data in this way is your consent to participate in the survey.

Data retention

Your personal data given to the University in our Global Mobility surveys will be held by us for three years and then securely deleted. We may keep aggregated anonymous statistics for a longer period to help monitor and improve our Global Mobility services over time.

Data transfers and sharing

The Global Mobility team will not share your personal information with anyone else, and as mentioned will only share aggregate anonymous reports, where no individual can be recognised, with colleagues and the Students' Union.
