If you are supporting students considering higher education or who are interested in studying at the University of Westminster, the Outreach Team is here to help.

Delivering activity at your school or college

We can deliver high quality presentations, workshops and advice to students, staff and parents to get a taste of what our wide range of Higher Education options entail. We can also provide tailored sessions for students throughout the application cycle to support their transition to university, linked to the Gatsby Benchmarks and your school college careers program.

Our sessions include:

  • higher education advice and guidance 
  • UCAS and how to apply
  • student finance and personal statement tips
  • student revision and well-being
  • book an academic to join your educational trip

On campus visits

We welcome visits from schools and college groups to the university to experience our facilities and teaching spaces and gain insight into a range of study options available at higher education. Insight Days which include interactive workshops and presentations tailored to your students’ interests in a particular subject area.

We also offer sessions on Student Life led by current student ambassadors and a range of information, advice and guidance around applying to university. Our sessions are designed to build the confidence of learners and give them insight into the wide range of options available to them if they choose to study at university.

Please note, availability is limited for these sessions so please get in touch with the team at and we will be happy to help to arrange something suitable for your learners.

Widening Participation 

We deliver a variety of collaborative projects to encourage students from all backgrounds to pursue higher education opportunities. 

All the activity we deliver is designed to reflect the needs and potential barriers of students looking to progress to Higher Education and to build their confidence with the university environment. 

Some examples of current Widening Participation projects:

  • Cognizant Digital Arts Summer School 
  • RIBA x Westminster Experience Architecture – this program, delivered in collaboration with RIBA gives young people the opportunity to find out more about pathways into studying Architecture related disciplines.
  • Science4U 
  • Mandarin Excellent Program 

Other ways to meet us

The team regularly attend HE fairs hosted by our partner feeder schools and colleges. If you would like to invite us to attend yours, please get in touch. We also attend third party fairs such as UCAS and UK University Seach; sign up to the schools and colleges newsletter to be informed of these.

The University is organized into three colleges: 

  • Westminster Business School – subjects such as Economics, Marketing and Architecture
  • College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - subjects range from Law, Politics and Psychology
  • College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries – subjects include Art, Media and Film 

To help you get a feel for what we teach and how, we will run specialist academic and informative sessions for staff or students at your institution.  These include presentations from our academics and visits designed to answer your questions on specific courses and related careers.
