Our long history in China means that we have a strong and active alumni network with over 1,600 registered alumni.
Alumni are located across China, particularly in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
Beijing Alumni Committee
The Beijing network is headed up by a committee of alumni volunteers who are active in organising events, creating networking opportunities and engage in recruitment activities for prospective students.
President
Pan Deng (International Journalism MA, 2006)
Pan Deng joined CCTV-News, China's only 24/7 English TV Channel in 2006. Before going behind the studio desk in 2009, he reported a wide range of news events and issues, including the Beijing Olympics, the massive Wenchuan earthquake, and China's first spacewalk. He's the winner of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union's TV Award on Promoting the Prevention of HIV/AIDS for his groundbreaking report on China's efforts in fighting HIV/AIDS among drug addicts.
Pan Deng got his Bachelor's degree from the Communication University of China. He then got his first Master's degree in journalism from the University of Westminster in the UK and his second Master's degree in international relations from Peking University.
Pan Deng is a vinyl records collector and photographer in his spare time.

Southern China Alumni Committee
The Southern China network is headed up by a committee of alumni volunteers who are active in organising events, creating networking opportunities and engaging in recruitment activities for prospective students.

Xi Chen (Public Relations MA, 2017)
Xi Chen is a university tutor at the Guangzhou College of Technology and Business. He is dedicated to supporting students with their goal of studying abroad in the UK.
Committee members
- Shane Hsu graduated in 2017 from Westminster Business School. Shane is the founder of Radiance Ltd which has a focus on smart city integration services, social media and branding communications, and wealth management consulting.
- Kira Qiu graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree from the University of Westminster. Kira is the Founder and CEO of the fashion brand Kira&Yanng.
- Yun Zheng is currently pursuing a PhD at the City University of Macau and also works as a teacher at Dongguan City College.
