Professor Christian Fuchs, Professor and Director of the Communication and Media Research Institute, was quoted in an article by Newsweek about a Trump-owned social media platform.

The article discusses how a social media platform from former President Trump could help him to connect with his followers but fail to reproduce the reach that Facebook and Twitter gave him before he was banned. Professor Fuchs said: “It is unlikely a Trump platform would reach beyond his own filter bubble into the wider public.”

Professor Fuchs also discussed how the approach of other media would determine the spread of influence from Trump’s site and said: “Part of Trump’s popularity were all these frontpage and primetime stories about his tweets.”
