Professor Andrew Groves, Professor of Fashion Design, was quoted in an article by The Guardian about Daniel Craig’s style statement at the No Time to Die premiere.

The article explored Daniel Craig’s red-carpet outfit at the No Time to Die premiere, where he moved away from the traditional black tux and instead wore a cerise pink suit jacket, which The Guardian described as “a fitting farewell to a Bond area which has ruffled some traditionalist feathers.”

Talking about the outfit, Professor Groves said: “Previously, Daniel Craig’s red-carpet attire was consistent with his character’s approach to the formality of black tie; in effect, we were witnessing James Bond at past premieres,”

He added: “Craig’s choice of a double-breasted jacket instead of a single breasted would have been enough to signal a stylistic departure from Bond’s approach to formal attire. The shocking-pink tailoring makes it patently clear that he no longer wants to be seen as James Bond.”
