If any of your supporting documents are not in English, they must be accompanied by a full translation.
You must submit the version in the original language and ALSO the full translation.
There are strict requirements for translations and it is important that your translation meets these requirements. The requirements differ for applications made inside the UK to those made outside the UK.
If you are applying for your visa from inside the UK, your translation must include:
- Confirmation that the translation is an accurate translation of the original document
- The date of the translation
- The full name and signature of the translator or of an authorised official of the translation company
- The contact details of the translator or translation company
- The translator's/translation company’s credentials
- The translation must be certified by a professional translator/translation company
The translation can be an original document or a copy.
If you are applying for your visa extension from outside the UK, your translations must include:
- Confirmation that the translation is an accurate translation of the original document
- The date of the translation
- The full name and signature of the translator or of an authorised official of the translation company
- The contact details of the translator or translation company
- The translation must be verifiable by the Home Office
Please note that the translations you used to get entry clearance in your home country may not be acceptable when applying for your visa extension from inside of the UK.
