We are pleased to offer new students starting at Westminster free unique personal development programmes.
The University of Westminster works with a training organisation called Grit to deliver a series of one and two-day personal development programmes to students in their first year at the University of Westminster.
This is an opportunity to:
- Create connection
- Be coached within a group
- Receive support to achieve your goals
- Create success in your first year and beyond
Connect Develop Grow
Create new connections and develop a deeper understanding of yourself, feel more confident about communicating in challenging situations and be more confident about working with others, focus on your future and the steps needed to achieve your goals.

What we offer
One-day workshops which help you get the most out of your university experience.
Students tell us:
- “It was great. The delivery, interaction, involvement, the welcoming atmosphere. It was beautiful”
Two-day intensive programmes which give you a more in-depth look into who you are and the thought patterns which get in the way of your goals.
Students tell us:
- “The concepts shared are life changing”
- “It seems to be so simple, but it is also very useful and impactful”.
Two-day student advocate programmes give you the opportunity to be an advocate for the Your Potential Your Success programmes and work alongside University staff and the Grit team to support your fellow students.
Students tell us:
- “I’ve been able to own my own work/my thoughts, be more open minded – it (had) stopped me getting to know people”
- “I’m more focused, not listening to myself so much, I can concentrate, I notice when I’m going inward, and I interrupt that”
