Unibuddy Community

As a global university with London energy, it is important for us to make our students feel included, well-connected and part of a supportive and meaningful community. Unibuddy Community provides an official, digital space for future students who have an offer to study with us to connect and get to know each other before they join the University of Westminster.

How does it work?

If you’ve received an offer to study with us, look out for your official email invitation to join our community. You'll receive an email from Westminster, followed by a series of automated sign-up notifications from Unibuddy directly.

Not everyone must join the community, and it will not affect your application if you choose not to. It’s simply a chance to connect with other future students – should you wish to do so. Some people find this useful to make friends, get to know people who are studying the same or similar courses, live in a similar area or are travelling from the same country.

When you join the community, you will be able to:

  • Talk with other future students who have an offer to study at Westminster
  • Find people with similar interests and backgrounds
  • Connect with others to support your transition to university life

To join the community, you will need to create an account with Unibuddy. This will be part of the link you are sent from them. Once your account is created, you can join the community.

Please ensure the email address you use for your Unibuddy account is the same as the email address you’ve used to apply to study with us at Westminster. It is an invite-only platform, and the email address will need to match the one we have on our records.

Using Unibuddy Community

Within the community, we have a range of public groups that you can join to meet similar people. This includes groups by subject area, as well as a range of groups related to different interests, hobbies, accommodation and more.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations for additional groups within the community, please let us know by emailing [email protected]

There is also the ability to send private messages to other future students within the community. The university cannot see these conversations but can support you if something does get reported.

We recommend keeping conversations within the Unibuddy Community space.

If you choose to create group chats and share social handles on external platforms, please observe the relevant guidelines on those platforms.

Community rules

The University of Westminster is a place where you can feel safe bringing your whole self. The aim is to create a space where you can enjoy meeting others as part of an inclusive university.

For everyone to get the most out of our community, we’ve set the following best practice:

  • Be kind, respectful and courteous – these align to our values as a compassionate, progressive and responsible university
  • No hate, harassment or bullying. Make sure that everyone feels safe
  • No promotions or spam. Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren’t allowed
  • Please think carefully before you click on any links which aren’t posted by Admin
  • Please be mindful about sharing any personal information, such as your phone number or address. We advise against doing this
  • Respect everyone's privacy

If these rules are broken and reported to us, it may affect your application to join the University of Westminster.

If there is any content that you find inappropriate, please hit the ‘Report’ button on the relevant message.

Should you decline the University of Westminster or decide not to attend, we kindly request that you leave the community, so it remains relevant to those who are in it.
