About the centre
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Research Group conducts empirical, descriptive, and pedagogical research with a focus on how communication of new knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths is disseminated. We are particularly interested in the changes in language, meaning and semiotic resources that scientific knowledge undergoes when disseminated in different media. Our aim is to better understand how these changes affect public engagement with STEAM disciplines.
We have published our research outcomes in academic journals, higher education magazines as well as the media, and have participated in a number of events that explore public engagement with scientific knowledge production.
