Director of International Affairs | China Film Producers' Association
Media Management MA – 2014
I think the strategic management skills, the marketing skills, and the research skills I learned at Westminster are the most valuable parts.
What are you doing now?
I am working as the Director of International Affairs of China Film Producers' Association. My job is to connect China’s film industry and the rest of the world, facilitate cooperation between film festivals, film companies, to promote Chinese films to the world, and to help make great coproduction films.
What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster? How did the skills you learnt during your degree help you to shape your career?
I think the strategic management skills, the marketing skills, and the research skills I learned at Westminster are the most valuable parts.
What was the best thing about being a student in London?
Being a student in London, you can get involved with the most amazing events and peoples from all around the world, as long as you want to discover.
What extra-curricular activities did you participate in that enhanced your time at the University?
I joined the Westminster gym – the yoga teacher was great, and I liked her class. The social life was also memorable. Joining different parties allowed me to understand my classmates better. It enhanced my understanding that we speak the same language even though we come from different countries, and have different cultural backgrounds.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career?
Try to meet and talk to the people working in the industry, try to get as much working experience as you can in London, and make everything you can reach become your source of learning. Never give up. Be positive.
