Business Management (Digital Business) BA – 2023

If you're looking for work-based learning and a diverse environment where everyone can feel included, I'd really recommend Westminster.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I selected the University of Westminster for two reasons; its high student diversity and its course breakdown that focused more on real-world application of knowledge and employability post-graduation.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Starting my university experience during a global pandemic was challenging. However, studying in London has given me access to a host of opportunities and experiences both socially and career-wise. I love the fact that the university is located within the hub of central London so it's literally not too far from anywhere, whether you want to go shopping in Oxford Street, or to a conference in King's Cross.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

My favorite part about studying Digital Business has been learning how to apply it to a range of different industries in the digital context. Digital Business is beyond social media marketing or AI but rather understanding how businesses interact virtually and the impact it has on company strategy.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

Our lecturers are always been polite and forthcoming with any information or assistance we need regardless of whether it's course-specific or just general life concerns.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service

The careers and employability service were really instrumental in helping me build my resume to be fit for job applications and helping me find a mentor. It's the same real-world skills that's carried through from our course content right into post-graduate preparedness.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

If you're looking for work-based learning and a diverse environment where everyone can feel included, I'd really recommend Westminster. There's a society for anything you could think of and if there isn't one yet, the students' union is always happy to help you create it!

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

I think the best part thing about being a Westminster student is accessibility. There's always someone to help you with whatever you need generally and there's a host of opportunities I wish I took advantage of when I had the time.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The manageable workload. I expected to be constantly overwhelmed with university homework and deadlines, but instead, I found that deadlines were, for the most part, manageable, and I could still have an enjoyable life outside my studies.
