Digital Marketing BA Honours – graduating in 2025

The subjects are interesting and educational, and you meet many great new people – but most importantly you leave university with a good education.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

In March 2022, I was lucky enough to visit the University of Westminster on an Open Day. I had already applied to a couple of universities, but I knew two things: that the course I wanted to take was digital marketing, and that I wanted to study in London. I quickly found out there weren't many universities in London that could offer Digital Marketing until I found Westminster, which was rated high in London and had the best location possible. The modules at Westminster seemed interesting, and I got to meet and talk to teachers and students which impacted my decision positively.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Not only have I met wonderful people of all nationalities, but I have improved my social skills and learned how to be more independent. The university’s Business School is located in the heart of Marylebone, which makes it easy to get to and from lectures and seminars. I believe studying in the UK would give me an opportunity to be challenged by world-class academics and build a long-lasting social and professional network.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

A module I found very interesting in my first semester was Fundamentals of Marketing. The module made me understand marketing much deeper and I achieved a better appreciation of what marketing is all about.

Additionally, I am motivated by courses with a focus on the digital aspects of building innovative brand stories and accurately reaching customers through digital tools. The mix of individual coursework such as essays and exams combined with group projects suits my goals well, as this allows me to gain the skills necessary to succeed professionally.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

I found the lecturers to always care about the students. If there is something we don't understand or if we need help – we can always ask. They only want us to succeed, that's why they're there. Too many questions are always better than too few.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

I have just started my second semester, but this year we'll learn how to create websites and use Canva and Adobe Photoshop. This is a very important factor, as most jobs within digital marketing require you to have these skills. It's also good to have them on your CV, as it makes you more desirable to employers.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

To anyone considering studying at the University of Westminster, I would say go for it. The subjects are interesting and educational, and you meet many great new people – but most importantly you leave university with a good education.

The University has so many programmes that can help you to achieve what you want and get you an internship while studying, you just need to take advantage of them. My last tip is to work hard to achieve your goals but still have a social life, and have fun.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The University gives you all the help you need when you want it. It's always a bit scary to start, with new people and new learning methods – but you quickly get used to it.

The best aspect has to be all of the opportunities available, in the past month I have received multiple requests on LinkedIn regarding jobs that fit my field. I guess that has something to do with where and what I'm studying.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The most surprising aspect would be that the seminar and lecture teachers actually answer your emails when you need them!
