History BA – 2023
I admired the friendly and energetic nature of both staff and students. I am really grateful for my chance to study at Westminster.
Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
I admired the friendly and energetic nature of both staff and students. I was intrigued by many of the topics that the course offered, which I did not find at any other University.
How has your experience been studying in London?
I have enjoyed my three years studying at the University of Westminster. I love the location of the campus, which is placed in the most unique part of Central London and offers a rich history. Traveling to the university for my studies and exploring the areas within London have been the most exciting thing for me.
What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?
My course is History. As a humanities subject, it has allowed me to learn and engage with necessary skills acquired outside the lessons, such as writing essays and reports, analysing a document, referencing and footnoting, as well as expanding my knowledge of writing styles. I have enjoyed engaging with the topics most, as it has peaked my passion for the subject.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The teaching team has been amazing. They are always at hand to support me, answer any questions or solve any issues I have.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course
I am currently volunteering at Gunnersbury Park Museum, usually on Wednesdays. It has been a great experience, because I am entrusted with helping to preserve the museum, interact with and assist visitors, as well as support my fellow colleagues. I believe they are important skills in any environment outside academia.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
Use every opportunity given to you, don't be afraid to try something new and to be yourself!
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
The best aspect must be the privilege of being surrounded by a huge network of individuals. It makes you feel like you are part of a huge academic family.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
The most surprising aspect of my Westminster experience is the confidence I have grown up with during my three years of studying. I feel more confident to undertake research, contribute my views and deliver ideas and presentations to others.
