Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
With a background in music as a musician and composer, I gradually became more involved in music production. I realised I needed a course that would equip me with the technical skills to produce at a professional level in the industry. I chose the Audio Production MA at University of Westminster because of its prime location, expert lecturers, state-of-the-art facilities, and the impressive studios.
How has your experience been studying in London?
A lot of the music I love comes from the UK, so I was eager to immerse myself in the culture that inspired it. Studying in London, a truly multicultural city, exceeded my expectations. I connected with people, cultures, and music from all over the world, which deeply enriched my learning and work. London is a fast-paced, vibrant city with a rich history and endless entertainment options, making it an incredible place to study.
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The lecturers were knowledgeable and supportive, always offering guidance and practical solutions to any challenges I faced.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
The facilities at Harrow Campus are outstanding. The main studios are equipped with state-of-the-art tools, making the processes of recording, mixing, and mastering highly efficient and enjoyable. The studio staff are incredibly supportive and consistently go above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course.
During my course, I had the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands, where I worked with a colleague on the production of my Final Project. I also connected with and record some talented musicians, who have since become friends. Additionally, I visited several music studios around London.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
The facilities and location at Harrow Campus are excellent. My advice is to thoroughly review the course and try to connect with alumni and lecturers to discuss whether it is the right fit for you.
What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
For me, the best part was having access to all the equipment, studios, facilities, and libraries - even from other courses. I also loved meeting people from all over the world and learning about their cultures, beliefs, and, of course, their food.
What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?
I was pleasantly surprised by the openness and willingness to share knowledge among my colleagues and lecturers. Studying at Westminster was an incredible experience. Living abroad in a different country with a new language was challenging, but the personal growth I gained made it all worthwhile.
