Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster because it is a well-regarded institution of higher education located in the heart of London, UK. It has a diverse range of academic programs and a vibrant student community and is known for its strong emphasis on practical learning and career development. How has your experience been studying in London?

I remember my first day on campus feeling a bit nervous but also excited to explore the new environment.
The universityis located in the heart of the city, and as I walked to my first class, I was struck by the sheer size and scale of London. The streets were crowded with people from all over the world, and I could hear a cacophony of different languages and accents.

One of my favourite experiences was visiting the British Museum, where I was able to see some of the most famous artefacts and artworks in the world. I also took advantage of the city's vibrant theatre scene, attending performances of everything from Shakespeare to contemporary plays.

Living in London was not always easy, however. The cost of living was high, and the pace of life was fast and sometimes overwhelming. But I also found the city to be incredibly stimulating and inspiring, with its rich history, culture, and diversity. Overall, studying in London was a life-changing experience that challenged me academically, culturally, and personally. It allowed me to meet people from all over the world and expand my horizons in ways that I could never have imagined.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The International Development Management MSc at the University of Westminster is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by communities and countries around the world in the pursuit of sustainable development. It aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to work in the field of international development, including project management, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

The course covers a wide range of topics, including the political, economic, and social factors that influence development outcomes, the role of international organisations and NGOs, and the challenges and opportunities presented by globalisation and technological change. Students also have the opportunity to explore specific issues in depth, such as gender and development, environmental sustainability, and poverty reduction.

The course also afforded students to take the PRINCE 2 Project Management foundation exam and a study trip to the World trade organisation and the United Nations office at Geneva.
