AI, Data and Communication MA (formerly titled - Data, Culture and Society MA)

I have really enjoyed the fact that my course is an integrative programme helping students to navigate both the technical aspects of data but the conceptual side of it too. Students from various different backgrounds can join this course and they all bring different perspectives to class discussions and forums. This makes the course very unique and I love it.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster because I wanted to be part of a diverse cultural hub in London. The university has a great reputation worldwide, and this experience really helped me gain connections outside of my normal network.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

Piéter Verdegem, the senior lecturer on the course, is excellent. Pieter really values feedback from his students. He is also able to eloquently break down themes and concepts in a digestible format for students. He is really invested in helping students to develop their skills for their future careers.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The library is a great resource that was introduced to us during our course. The library staff were able to help with any research questions and give us various tools needed to complete our final project.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service

They are excellent for providing advice, career coaching, and helping you to draft a great resume and cover letter. The people at the centre are really dedicated to your personal development and future success, and it really shows.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

I would say, do it! It is an incredible opportunity, with great industry-standard facilities and academic staff. You will not regret it.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The best part of being a student at the University of Westminster is the amount of networking opportunities that are available to you! There are so many people worldwide that are willing to help you if you just reach out to them.
