Why did you choose the University of Westminster?
The institution has a very rich history and a great reputation for being diverse. The University’s name itself carries a certain aura and prestige. Additionally, being located in London means that students are at the centre of opportunities. Another winning factor for me in choosing Westminster was the modules offered in my course. They felt very much aligned, up to date and in accordance with what the industry demands.
How has your experience been studying in London?
The city matures your perspective on life and inculcates your mindset. It has been a learning curve and living in London means you are always surrounded by opportunities; there is no limit to what you can achieve, given that you are willing to work hard for it.

The course modules are very well planned and organised. The course gives everyone a chance to study and dive into the world of cyber security, even if they don’t have any technical background or experience. If you are passionate about cyber security, this is your golden ticket to excellence!
How have you found academic support as part of your studies?
The lecturers were very helpful and always there to offer guidance. We were instructed to reach out to them with any query from the beginning. The response time has always been great and I did not feel any gap due to miscommunication. The academics were also always available to offer career advice.
Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?
The computer labs are equipped with the latest technology solutions, which allow you to get the most out of your studies. In my experience, the University is very well prepared to effectively cope with any conditions, and they have been successful with the hybrid model of teaching.
Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course
Being a team leader, I was fortunate to have taken part in the UK Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge. We presented a case study about recent cyber attacks and what could have been done to limit the damage and what made the attack special, and the level of complexity it held. It was a great experience! I was also an active member of the Travel Society at the University, where I had a great time socialising, making a lot of friends and being part of a few trips.
What’s the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?
The exposure to new opportunities, being in the heart of London and having an active alumni network. This means that the usual fear of job security is something that is catered for. It’s great to keep in touch with the alumni network who have gone to work in well-recognised companies all around the world. The University also has strong industry connections, which in return helps students secure great opportunities.
