Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster due to its outstanding reputation for cultivating creativity and innovation, particularly in event design and management. The programme's dynamic curriculum, which combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, appealed to my desire for a hands-on learning experience. We had many industry experts as guest lecturers, making the journey highly educational. The university's strong industry connections and inclusive campus culture convinced me that it's the ideal place to not only gain a comprehensive education but also foster my creativity. Furthermore, being located in the heart of London provides exceptional opportunities for real-world exposure, networking, and cultural engagement, making Westminster the perfect launchpad for my career in event management.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying at the University of Westminster in London has been a fulfilling experience, but it has not been without its challenges. The university's inclusive environment perfectly aligns with the city's cultural diversity, allowing me to explore different perspectives. As a global hub, London provides a wealth of networking opportunities, connecting me with professionals in the events industry. What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I thoroughly enjoyed the Event Design and Management MA at the University of Westminster. The course offered a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application that helped me understand the complexities of event management. The guest lectures by industry professionals were insightful and provided real-world perspectives. The course's flexibility allowed me to explore diverse aspects of event design, enhancing my skills. The academic team and collaborative spirit fostered a dynamic learning environment, enriching my academic experience and positioning me for success. The knowledgeable and supportive lecturers and the friendly atmosphere exceeded my expectations.

The team provided personalised support in refining my resume, honing my interview skills, and developing a strategic career plan tailored to my aspirations. Workshops and networking events facilitated crucial connections with industry professionals. The service's proactive approach, including regular updates on job opportunities and internship placements, significantly contributed to my successful transition from academic studies to practical applications in event design and management. Overall, the University Careers and Employability Service has played a pivotal role in enhancing my employability and career prospects.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course 

I have been actively participating in extracurricular activities to enrich my university experience. One of the notable highlights was our field trip to Bath, where I had the opportunity to explore and apply the concepts from my course in a real-world setting. As a proud member of the university's dance team, I have dedicated time to rehearsals and performances, which have helped me foster teamwork and creativity. These experiences have complemented my academic studies and provided me with a well-rounded perspective. Additionally, participating in sports clubs and societies at UWSU has allowed me to connect with diverse peers, enhancing my social and leadership skills. These activities have been integral to my holistic development at the University of Westminster.
