Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster because of the diverse range of topics offered in the course, and I found the modules we studied very interesting. Additionally, I opted for a degree apprenticeship with the University of Westminster as it provides excellent career opportunities, and I'll be guaranteed employment upon completing my degree.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been an incredible experience so far. As an apprentice, I only travel to the university one day a week, but being able to come to London for my studies is thoroughly enjoyable. I love the walk to campus because there's so much to see, and the campuses are located in extremely vibrant parts of London.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my course, especially the Cell Biology module, because it directly relates to my work in the laboratory. It's extremely useful to learn about a concept in a lecture and then apply it at work the following day.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The academic support at Westminster is amazing, especially for apprentices! As an apprentice, I meet with someone from the university every few months for a one-on-one meeting to discuss my progress at university and in the workplace. These meetings helped me progress, and I always gained valuable advice from the university staff.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

At my workplace, I am a member of the Apprentice Network. I organise events for apprentices in the hospital and attend career events to promote apprenticeships in healthcare sciences to local secondary school and college students.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

My advice to someone considering studying at Westminster, more specifically an apprenticeship at Westminster, would be to say yes to any opportunities offered to you! Even if something seems nerve-wracking, trying new things is a great way to grow and learn about what you like and dislike.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The best aspect of being a University of Westminster student is meeting many new people. Westminster has a highly multicultural community, and during my time at Westminster, I have met people from all over the world!

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The most surprising aspect of my Westminster experience has been the many opportunities the University offers for students. From study abroad trips to end-of-year parties, there's always something fun to do at Westminster.
