The academic team feels like a little family. They're not just lecturers – they really get to know you personally and will go above and beyond to support your success.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose Westminster because it was right in the heart of London. I wanted to experience London in its totality and be part of a university that was truly integrated into city life. What really struck me was how the university's location puts us at the centre of so many opportunities.

How has your experience been studying in London?

I've loved every minute of it! The vibrant atmosphere of our campuses, the countless cafés nearby, and the incredible proximity to everything London has to offer has made my experience unforgettable. Being in central London means everything is right on your doorstep - whether you're heading to a lecture, meeting friends, or going to a placement.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The standout aspect has been our fantastic teaching team. They're not just lecturers – they really get to know you personally and will go above and beyond to support your success. Though our department is smaller, this has created a tight-knit community. I've particularly enjoyed how the course combines theory with real-world experience - from food market visits with Senior Lecturer, Dr Emily Falconer, through to placements with organisations like the Metropolitan Police. These practical elements really bring our learning to life.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

Outstanding! The academic team feels like a little family. They're always approachable and genuinely invested in our success. What's special is how they take time to understand your individual goals and help you work towards them.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

What stands out isn't just the physical facilities, but the amazing opportunities we get. For example, our course includes funded museum trips and innovative learning experiences like our food exploration trips with Dr Emily Falconer. The university's central London location means we have incredible access to major institutions and industry partners - everything becomes an extension of our classroom.

What activities have you undertaken outside of your course?

I've been really lucky to experience such a diverse range of activities. We've had amazing networking opportunities through placements with organisations like the Metropolitan Police. The university's location in central London means we're perfectly positioned to work with major companies like Deloitte, EY, and other big names in the industry. We also get to explore London's incredible food markets as part of our studies - and yes, the free samples during those are definitely a bonus!

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Take full advantage of Westminster's location! Also, don't be afraid to get involved in everything the university offers - whether it's placements, field trips, or networking events.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

It's the perfect balance of social and academic life. The university's central location means you're always connected to what's happening in London, while still being part of a supportive academic community. Plus, the diversity here is amazing - I've made lifelong friends with people of all ages and backgrounds.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The incredible diversity of our student community! I found myself studying alongside people in their 30s and beyond, and they've become some of my closest friends. The university has such an integrated culture - it really reflects London's diversity.
