I had the privilege of studying abroad in New York for a semester, which was an unforgettable experience. Exploring another fashion capital with its unique creative atmosphere was truly enriching. Additionally, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the distinct student life in the US and connect with inspiring individuals and industry professionals with extensive experience in the fashion industry.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster because of its successful reputation within the fashion industry, both in the UK and worldwide. Additionally, the opportunity to study in London was a major reason for my decision. Being in one of the fashion capitals, I hoped London would provide me with many experiences and inspirations.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been truly inspiring, as the city is filled with creativity and enthusiasm. There are always exciting fashion exhibitions to see, and I had the chance to participate and attend events like London Fashion Week. Moreover, I've met many inspiring people who have motivated me to strive towards my goals and dreams.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

My course boasts a diverse range of modules, and the lecturers, with their industry expertise, provide a balance of academic theory and real-world insights. The final projects for each module challenged me to push my creative boundaries and utilise my skills to the fullest. Moreover, the smaller class size in our year encouraged a more intimate environment, allowing for greater engagement with lecturers, tutors, and classmates and resulting in lasting friendships.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The tutors and lecturers have been very attentive to my work and have provided valuable feedback. My assigned tutors have consistently offered an abundance of support throughout my university journey. During the pandemic and the transition to online classes, our tutors always made the effort to maintain interactive learning experiences and always aimed for the best outcomes for their students.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

My course provided an array of resources for trend forecasting and market analytics, which proved invaluable for the modules I undertook and our final projects. Furthermore, many lecturers regularly invited guest speakers and industry professionals to contribute to our projects, providing invaluable insights and guidance for our project ideas.

Have you used the University Careers and Employability Service? If yes tell us about your experience

Yes, I had the opportunity to participate in the Westminster Working Cultures program in preparation for my placement year. The program offered invaluable guidance on job applications and interview skills, enhancing my employability for my placement year. It was an overall beneficial experience, and my tutor also helped me refine and improve my CV in preparation for my placement.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

I would encourage you to seize every opportunity that comes your way and actively seek out experiences and activities. Being in a vibrant city like London means there are always opportunities to explore, so make the most of it.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

I am fortunate to be part of a vibrant and diverse community at the University of Westminster, where I have had the opportunity to learn from people I might not have met otherwise. Moreover, I have thoroughly enjoyed being in the city, with easy access to numerous interesting events and countless possibilities.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

I am incredibly grateful to have met the friends I made at Westminster, who have become such wonderful companions throughout my university experience.
