Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I explored several options before ultimately choosing the University of Westminster. The decision was guided by key factors that resonated with my aspirations: the designed course structure, the location, and the international friendliness of the institution. 

I was particularly drawn to the flexibility of choosing between an MA or MSc after the first semester, allowing me to tailor my education to my evolving interests. Being situated in the heart of London truly enhances the experience, offering access to a dynamic city full of opportunities. 

Moreover, I appreciated the university's commitment to inclusivity, as shown by the minimal difference in fees between Home and International students. This aspect not only eased my financial concerns but also reflected a welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has truly been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Transitioning from my small hometown to one of the most vibrant cities in the world presented its challenges, yet it has profoundly transformed me both personally and professionally. I have gained a greater sense of confidence in my knowledge and abilities by engaging with people from diverse backgrounds. 

My time at the University of Westminster was impactful; I had the privilege of working on real case studies and connecting with professionals from the marketing industry. This practical experience made my studies more tangible and relevant for my future career. Along the way, I was fortunate to meet many remarkable people and forge friendships that I will treasure for years to come. 

This journey has not only expanded my horizons but also cultivated a deeper sense of awareness. Overall, I believe that studying in London has played a significant role in shaping me into a more well-rounded professional and mostly a person who I am very proud of.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The modules on my course were a significant factor in my choice of the University of Westminster. They offer a well-rounded curriculum that touches on all the essential disciplines for gaining a solid understanding of marketing on a global scale. It’s reassuring to see how each topic builds on the last, creating a cohesive learning experience.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The professors I’ve had the pleasure of learning from have been incredibly supportive. Their willingness to assist students and make the course as accessible as possible truly enhances the overall experience. It’s great to have someone who genuinely cares about our understanding and success, making the learning process more engaging and enjoyable. Together, these elements have made my journey at the university both enlightening and rewarding.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

Not really as far as I know. 

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service. 

I have engaged with the Careers and Employability Service by subscribing to their mailing list for daily job opportunities. Based on my experience, students can discover a variety of exciting job descriptions to apply for.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course.

During my time engaging in extracurricular activities, I participated in a mentoring program that enriched my experience. This opportunity allowed me to connect with and learn from a marketing professional. Additionally, I was fortunate to have professors who regularly introduced us to a variety of extracurricular events that not only complemented our education but also offered exciting and unique experiences, including visits to museums, exhibitions and workshops.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Never doubt your ability to pursue higher education. You are here to learn, and there would be no point if you were already an expert. If you are willing to put the work and effort into your studies, you will see incredible results. Embrace the challenges that come your way and never shy away from expressing your thoughts. Through these courageous moments, you will grow and evolve into a person you will be proud of and a future leader in your field. It can be scary, but that's part of it. You'll just have to do it scared and trust that you will be grateful you did.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

One of the greatest benefits of being a student at the University of Westminster is the chance to engage with professors who actively encourage your participation in lectures and seminar discussions. I truly appreciate the mental challenges they present, as they inspire me to broaden my perspective and explore new ideas.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

I never anticipated the depth of the connections I would form with both students and the academic staff. These relationships have been truly transformative. I also had the unforeseen opportunity to engage in academic research, which has not only been deeply fulfilling but has also ignited a profound interest in further academic studies.
