About the event

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Westminster is proud to present our series of taster lectures for 2023.

These mini-lectures, designed and presented by senior academics in each subject field, provide a taster of what it’s like to study a subject area at university. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who want to explore their favourite subjects at a higher level and identify if they would like to pursue it at university.

In this session, we'll introduce you to psychological fields that focus on mental health and wellbeing, such as clinical and counselling psychology. Within this session we'll focus on why listening skills are a valuable tool for psychologists, professionals and the wider public. You'll be offered the chance to try out some of the listening techniques used by counsellor and psychologists in practice

This event is free to attend and is open to all students currently studying a Level 3 qualification. Parents and carers are also welcome to attend.
