International Sporting Excellence Award – September 2025

The International Sporting Excellence Awardis designed to support international students at undergraduate or postgraduate level who are performing or playing sport at an elite level or show strong evidence of future outstanding potential. We're offering scholarships ranging from £2,500 to £5,000 towards tuition fees in the first year of the chosen degree course.

Amount

Tuition fee awards of between £2,500-£5,000 will be paid directly to the University towards your tuition fees in your first semester. Please note that you will only receive this award for the first year of your studies. Awardees will be liable for full fees in the subsequent years of their study but may be able to apply for additional funding through our Elite Athlete Programme once they have enrolled with us. This amount cannot go towards the £5,500 deposit payment required to secure your CAS (student visa).

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply applicants must:

  • Be of academy, national or international standard in any sport or show strong evidence of future outstanding potential
  • Be classified as overseas fee status
  • Be holding an offer for a full time Bachelor’s or Master’s course starting in September 2025 at the University of Westminster

Please note that you are NOT eligible to apply for this scholarship if you fall into one or more of the below categories:

  • If you are applying for a Bachelor’s programme with an integrated foundation year
  • If you are applying for an International Summer School or Study Abroad Programme
  • If you are eligible for any other discount on your course fees such partner student discount or EU Qualifications Award

Applicants will need to demonstrate sporting excellence and should also show a passion for their chosen subject.
