The event, on Wednesday 10 November from 13.00-14.00, aims to address how many of us deal with a critical inner voice which tells us that we are not good enough, that we are doing things wrong, and that we need to do more.

This powerful and informative workshop will provide attendees with an understanding of where this barrage of self-criticism comes from, along with effective techniques to silence these negative thoughts, leaving attendees happier, more confident and more fulfilled.

The event’s speaker, Jennifer Nadel, the author of the Sunday Times Bestseller, ‘WE: A Manifesto for Women’ [if for men as well then ‘WE: 9 Principles for a Happier Life’] which she co-wrote with actress Gillian Anderson.

In 'We', Anderson and Nadel ask why so many women are locked in cycles of depression, addiction, self-criticism, and even self-harm. They ask how much more effective and powerful we would all be if we replaced our current patterns of competition, criticism, and comparison with collaboration, cooperation, and compassion.

By putting these values at the centre of our lives, they argue that we can become happier and more empowered, and replace harmful habits with a more positive, peaceful, and rewarding way of being.

A spokesperson from WOW said: "WOW are really looking forward to learning from Jennifer in the first of a number of self-development sessions with some immediate take way tools for our everyday use."

The workshop is open to university staff, alumni and external audiences. Book your tickets and find out more on the event’s Eventbrite.
