Westminster Enterprise Network (WeNetwork), the University of Westminster’s entrepreneurial community, have partnered with VoXo to deliver their 2021 Entrepreneurship Pioneer Programme; an online programme to inspire and empower current students to explore entrepreneurship and develop transferable employability skills.
The programme offers 30 selected students to participate in expert led workshops, mentoring and opportunities to connect with investors, inspirational founders, and industry leaders. The opportunity to participate is open to all University of Westminster current students from underrepresented backgrounds and identities. The programme is underlined by WeNetwork’s mission to make entrepreneurship and industry more inclusive and representative of the diversity of the University of Westminster student community, by contributing to the building of a diverse, experienced, confident, and highly skilled talent pipeline.
30 students kickstarted the programme in November and took part in the first workshops which were focused on ‘How to be a Founder and Think Like an Entrepreneur’ and ‘Building a Compelling Value Proposition’. Over 14 weeks, students will be able to access weekly skills workshops, receive a £250 bursary to help fund their idea, one-to-one coaching and mentoring, investor office hours to access feedback from investors and a Demo and Awards day at the end of the programme.
VoXo, who have partnered with WeNetwork on this year’s programme, are a powerful community providing women with greater opportunities for public and professional speaking by connecting them online with the global events industry.
Co-founder of VoXo Karen Winton commented: “The team at VoXo is delighted to be working with the University of Westminster Enterprise Network to deliver the second Pioneer Programme. We are enjoying engaging with applicants to develop their business ideas, skills and confidence, and support them through workshops, content, mentorship and networks as they move into the next phase of their lives as entrepreneurs."
Miguel Noite, Student and Graduate Engagement Officer from WeNetwork added: "WeNetwork is thrilled to be partnering with VoXo for the 2nd edition of the Pioneer Programme. We are bringing together an inspiring and diverse group of students to develop their enterprise and entrepreneurship skills and pursue a brilliant career as future founders. It's exciting to scale up the programme compared to last year, offering even more places to underrepresented students and championing diversity."
