Westminster Business School has signed an agreement with Amity Global Institute in Singapore which will allow students from Amity to study on the Global Trade and Business BA Honours course at the University of Westminster in Central London.

Students from Amity Global Institute will be able to progress their studies at Amity’s heritage landmark campus in central Singapore to study on the Global Trade and Business BA Honours course at Westminster’s Marylebone Campus.

The experience of studying at both the Singapore and London settings with allow learners to become better global citizens and more transnationally aware. Upon graduating, it is envisioned that they will be more confident and culturally competent in networking with others regardless of race, ethnicity, or culture in dynamic environments. Throughout their studies, students will acquire a global mindset through encouragement by staff and active participation.

The Amity Global Institute is a key institution of the Amity Education Group, which is a leading worldwide not-for-profit education foundation. It is located at the House of Tan Yeok Nee, a historical building which is a gazetted national monument and is strategically located within the Orchard Road precinct, directly across from the Istana, the Presidential Office of the Republic of Singapore.

Both Amity and Westminster share a common commitment to a diverse student body, with Amity’s students hailing from more than 22 countries.

During the visit, Dr Katalin Illes, Associate Head of College (External Relations), signed the agreement on behalf of the University of Westminster.

Speaking about the occasion, Dr Illes said: “Amity Global Institute in Singapore and Westminster Business School share a strong commitment to enhancing our students’ learning experience by frequently organising many industry-oriented activities to help them interact with experienced professionals and jump start their career.”

Dr Karen Jackson, Director of International Development for Westminster Business School, also joined the signing ceremony. She was heavily involved in setting up the partnership along with Rebecca Shonfeld, International Partnerships Officer.

Speaking about the agreement, Dr Jackson added: “This agreement will allow students to study Global Trade and Business in two of the major global financial centres of the world. We are very excited to start this partnership – there is much to look forward to.”
