Westminster Computer Games Development alumnus named as iGaming Rising Star

Marketing company air_space has recognised University of Westminster Computer Games Development BSc Honours alumnus Aleksander Stroiński as their iGaming Rising Star, recognising his innovative contributions to the iGaming industry.

Air_space is a marketing agency that showcases outstanding brands, people and products in the iGaming industry, and alumnus Aleksander Stroiński has now been featured among other developers for his fast-growing career and impact on the industry.

Aleksander graduated in 2023 with a Computer Games Development BSc Honours degree. His journey in the iGaming industry started when he became a Junior Developer at Gaming Realms during his last year at university. Over just 18 months he had contributed to new and existing games, framework development and in-house tool creation, quickly gaining new responsibilities in the front-end team. Through his creativity, dedication and innovation he was promoted to Front End Developer in early 2025.

Aleksander commented: “I’m deeply honoured to be recognised as the iGaming Rising Star by air_space. This achievement reflects all the hard work and dedication I put into becoming a developer. Being an international student at the University of Westminster was a big part of my journey. I received massive support and knowledge that has been invaluable in helping me expand my skills and reach this milestone. I look forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the industry and achieve further success.”

Markos Mentzelopoulos, Computer Games Development BSc Honours Course Leader, said: "Aleksander Stroiński stood out from the start with his exceptional talent in game development, his drive for competition and his relentless pursuit of excellence. His passion for tackling challenges head-on was evident in every project he undertook, always delivering work of the highest quality. It is no surprise to see him making such a significant impact in the iGaming industry!"

Peter Russell, Chief Technology Officer of Gaming Realms, added: "Aleks has been a great addition to the team, his enthusiasm and willingness to learn has allowed him to progress quickly to the stage where he is delivering new games with little supervision. He has also brought an inquisitive energy to the team and pioneered several new ideas under the mentorship of the senior developers. Lewis Vaillant-Jones who also joined recently from the University of Westminster has made a similarly impressive start. We are very happy with our relationship with the University of Westminster and Markos Mentzelopoulos has been a great help in connecting us with great candidates, we are currently discussing further graduate opportunities in 2025 and extending the programme to other areas of our business."

Aleksander’s work directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has used the SDGs holistically to frame strategic decisions to help students and colleagues fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society.
