Clearing at Westminster is now open and with over 150 courses on offer, enquirers are spoilt for choice. Westminster students who have applied to the University of Westminster during Clearing have come together to share their easy experience of the process and to give reassuring advice to those applying through Clearing this year.
Just over 33,000 students secured their university spot through UCAS Clearing in 2022, up from 24,100 in 2021. At Westminster, the Clearing process is easy and simple, with many well-supported students securing a place each year.
Hasan got his spot to study English Literature and Language BA Honours through Clearing. About the experience he said: “I was helped and guided through the process which relieved a lot of worries. I was really happy with all they were telling me on the phone. I had such a wonderful experience going through Clearing and I have had such an amazing year at Westminster. There is so much to do and so much to explore.”
Nicoleta is also grateful to the Clearing process for helping her secure her place to study Law LLB Honours at Westminster. She said: “Before I called the Clearing line I was worried about the process and how long it would take but when I called they told me about the process and all the documents that I needed to send and reassured me that I’d be getting a space. Westminster is a great place for networking and getting to know people.”
Harvey, who got his spot on the Business Management BA Honours course through Clearing, echoed his peers. He added: “My Clearing process at Westminster was easy. I think the ease of speaking to the Clearing staff which was very helpful. Whilst researching for universities, I noticed that the University of Westminster was much more applicable to me due to the industry connections it has. What I currently love the most about Westminster is the location, being so central in London and being so close to everything.”
Through their experiences they offered pieces of advice for anyone going through the process this year.
Nicoleta said: "A very important tip would be to have your UCAS number ready.”
Esther got a spot to study Psychology BSc Honours through Clearing and offers this piece of advice: “Check for courses and alternative courses in case you don’t get the course you want to do.”
Hasan added: “Don’t just consider your friends as an option – go for what you want because at the end of the day it is your life, your career.”
