Westminster Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture publishes newsletter for May 2023

The Westminster Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture had a fruitful May 2023.

Matthew Morrison and Professor Guy Osborn had an open-access article on their work at the Soho Poly published in the International Journal of the Sociology of Leisure. Its freely available under the title Disrupting Work and Leisure in Lockdown: the Case of the Soho Poly

Professor Osborn delivered a paper at a workshop by the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law on law and technology relating to ticket touting. He also visited a number of Smithsonian institutions along with Matthew Morrison in Washington DC as part of the UKRI-funded Pioneering, Pop and Protest project.  

David Callahan visited the Centre in advance of his performance as part of the Soho Poly Summer Festival that will take place between 16-24 June. Book tickets for his gig David Lance Callahan at the Soho Poly starting at 7.30pm on 16 June. In the cover image he is pictured in front of the Polyphonic banner that currently resides in the foyer at the University’s Little Titchfield Site and which lists every band that played at the University between 1966 and 1992. Callahan’s band The Wolfhounds played Westminster’s Student Union Bolsover St bar in October 1987.
