London-based producer Bruce Fielder, who goes by the name Sigala, graduated from the Commercial Music BA Honours course with First-Class Honours in 2013.

In 2016, Sigala signed a multi-million-dollar licence deal with Sony following the huge success of his No 1 song ‘Easy Love’ in 2015. Since then, he has had a string of songs charting in the top five and top ten such as Easy Love’s follow-up Sweet Lovin which spent ten weeks in the top ten in 2015, Say You Do which charted in at number five in 2016, and Lullaby which charted at number nine in 2018.

The University of Westminster’s Commercial Music BA Honours course was the first in the UK to offer the opportunity to learn, practise and experiment with the artistic and business strategies in today’s music industry. In addition to Sigala, other stars set to perform at the special concert include Queen and Adam Lambert, Ella Eyre, Craig David, George Ezra, Duran Duran, Celeste, Nile Rodgers, Diana Ross, Andrea Bocelli, and Sir Elton John.

It is expected that 22,000 people will attend the event, including 10,000 tickets allocated in a public ballot and more than 7,500 tickets for key workers, members of the Armed Forces, volunteers, and charities. The concert will be streamed live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2.

Speaking about Sigala’s appearance in the concert line-up, David Brooks, Alumni Relations Officer (Alumni Experience) said: “It’s fantastic that Westminster alumnus Sigala is featuring in the events for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Platinum Party at the Palace promises to be a real highlight of the celebrations, and Sigala is taking his place alongside a huge range of artists to help us all mark the occasion with this monumental concert at Buckingham Palace.”
