Han Hendriks, alumnus of the Design Management MBA course, has been appointed as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the global material solution provider Trinseo.
Hendriks is now a member of Trinseo’s executive leadership team, based in the Netherlands. As a CTO, he will support the development of differentiated technology and innovation to meet unfilled and unrecognised customer needs and develop sustainable solutions across Trinseo’s innovation pillars.
As a specialty material solutions provider, Trinseo cooperates with companies to support sustainability-focused projects from design to manufacturing. The company works with a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, mobility, building and construction, and medical. With its approximately 3,400 employees, Trinseo is based all over the world from the company’s locations in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Trinseo, Hendriks was Chief Technology Officer at Yanfeng, one of the world's leading automotive suppliers, headquartered in Shanghai. He was responsible for the company’s technology vision and strategy, as well as portfolio management. He also led the design and development of new products from research and initial idea to market launch including technical sales and marketing, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) technology and partnerships, and the initiation and global upscaling of Yanfeng’s new business incubators. Prior to Yanfeng, Hendriks led a 16-year career at Johnson Controls, holding multiple roles of increasing responsibility. Earlier in his career, he worked for companies such as Fluke under Danaher and Océ under Canon.
In addition to his studies at the University of Westminster, Hendriks completed a degree of Fine Arts in Architectural Design BA course from the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, and a post-graduate Industrial Design programme at the Università Internazionale Dell 'Arte in Florence.
