Aram’s company Happy Student is designed to provide a supportive platform for students navigating new challenges at university. Bringing together resources on finding housing, sorting out utilities, opening a bank account, and more, Happy Student aims to help students transition into university life more easily so that they can focus on making the most of the experience.

Aram created and developed Happy Student during his time at Westminster, while studying for his Business Management BA Honours degree. He won both the First Prize and the Viral Idea Prize in the Westminster Big Idea Competition 2022, the University’s annual University-wide student and graduate business idea and innovation competition run in partnership with Santander Universities. Aram received funding from the Big Idea Competition to further develop and extend Happy Student.

Aram is one of eleven entrepreneurs shortlisted for the Early Stage Stand Outs category at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. The awards, now in their eleventh year, celebrate the achievements of the UK’s most innovative and forward-thinking entrepreneurs. They aim to demonstrate the impact that entrepreneurs and their business endeavours have in the UK through their innovation, creation of employment opportunities and contribution to the growth of the UK economy. Previous winners include Alan and Juliet Barratt, co-founders of the sports nutrition brand Grenade, Shaun Pulfrey, chairman and founder of global haircare brand Tangle Teezer, and Steven Bartlett, entrepreneur and host of the Diary of a CEO podcast. This year’s winners will be announced in a ceremony at Grosvenor House on 20 November 2023.

Speaking about being shortlisted, Aram said: “I am honoured to have been selected as one of the nation’s top entrepreneurs. This acknowledgment is not only a testament to the diligent work of my team at Happy Student, but it also underscores the impact we’re making in students’ lives. It serves as a beacon of motivation for us to continue our work and expand our reach even further.”
