The Westminster Inclusion and Diversity Festival is organised to showcase, inspire and advocate for diversity and inclusion in industry and entrepreneurship, taking place from 19-21 October 2021.
The festival highlights the career paths of successful, diverse industry leaders and entrepreneurs, and will offer workshops to equip students with the confidence and skills to define, prepare and work towards their chosen career paths.
It will take place over the course of three days and will feature speakers from a range of sectors that will equip students with the knowledge required to lead a successful career in entrepreneurship and how to deal with the possible difficulties many encounter when beginning to launch their own brand.
The Festival commences on 19 October with an award winning IT consultant and industry speaker conducting a masterclass for the students on how to establish a personal brand when starting a career in a chosen field. The talk will then focus on the importance of networking, and how to do so effectively when looking towards improving future career prospects.
The programme continues on 20 October with two events including an interactive workshop on how students are able to launch a business from a seemingly small side hustle, followed by an event on ‘Diversity and Inclusion in Action’ which will explore the wider complexities of the process of diversity and inclusion within human resources and recruitment.
The three-day Festival comes to a close on 21 October with two workshops starting with a session hosted by a careers expert who will share the most powerful questions you can ask to see your career growth in a new way. The second workshop will teach students about what it is like to work within the media and how to be prepared for any complexities they may encounter along the way.
Paul Dwyer, Director of Student Enterprise, said: “Inclusive enterprise is at the heart of everything Westminster Enterprise Network does and the WINC festival is our annual celebration of the great work done by champions of inclusivity in the world of work and enterprise. The festival is our opportunity to focus on the challenges ahead.”
