University of Westminster hosts international ministers to share transnational education and apprenticeship best practice

As part of the Education World Forum held in London from 22 to 25 May 2022, the University was delighted to host a visit by an international delegation of ministers supported by the UK’s Minster of State for Universities the Rt Hon Michelle Donelan.

The ministers visited the University’s Marylebone Campus to learn more about our approach to transnational education (TNE) and apprenticeships, and following a welcome from Dr Peter Bonfield, Vice-Chancellor and President, presentations were given by Professor Alexandra Hughes, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement and Employability, and Linsey Cole, Director of Business Engagement.

The ministers were particularly interested in learning more about how the University’s TNE and apprenticeship activities supported students from less advantaged backgrounds.

Following the visit, Professor Alexandra Hughes said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to discuss with the ministers the central role that TNE and apprenticeships play in the University and our commitment to supporting students in preparation for the workplace.”
