Natalie Campbell MBE, social entrepreneur and CEO, has been appointed as the next Chancellor of the University of Westminster.
Professor Lynne Berry CBE, Chair of the Court of Governors who make the Chancellor’s appointment, said: “When the Governors began their search for a new Chancellor, we were committed to finding someone who embodied the values and priorities of Being Westminster. In Natalie Campbell MBE we have found someone who does just that. She shared our sense of being part of a community that was progressive, compassionate and responsible. The Chancellor’s role is to symbolise our mission and values and to champion the University of Westminster’s work to achieve it. With Natalie’s absolute focus on these priorities, and our history of transforming lives and of engaging with the society and economy around us, we’re a great fit.”
Natalie is the Co-CEO of Belu Water, an ethical drinks business that puts people and the environment first. Before joining Belu Water in 2020 she led on insight and innovation for The Royal Foundation and co-founded A Very Good Company (AVGC), a global social innovation agency that worked with brands - including Virgin Media, Marks & Spencer, W Hotels and Channel 4 - to embed purpose and sustainability practices. She is a strategic advisor to several fast growth businesses in finance, hospitality and consumer technology and holds a number of public appointments and non-executive positions related to leadership and inclusive economic growth.
Commenting on the appointment Vice-Chancellor and President, Dr Peter Bonfield said: "We are so pleased to welcome Natalie to our University. Speaking about her appointment, Natalie said: “It is a great privilege to become the Chancellor of the University of Westminster. I feel a deep personal resonance with the mission to 'help students and colleagues from different backgrounds fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society'. This, coupled with a shared commitment to delivering the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the social enterprise movement means we're going to have a lot of fun over the next few years.”
Natalie will be formally installed on 10 February 2023 where she will set out her goals for her term as Chancellor.
