The University of Westminster wishes Ramadan Mubarak to all of our students, colleagues, alumni and friends celebrating.

Ramadan, also spelled Ramadhan, Ramazan, Ramathan or Ramzan, occurs on the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, and marks the month the Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammed. The celebration is observed by Muslims worldwide and comprises of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

This year, Ramadan begins on the evening of Saturday 2 April and will end in the evening of Sunday 1 May, which is marked by Eid ul-fitr, a festival of thanksgiving to God.
