Yom Kippur translates to ‘Day of Atonement’ and is considered to be the most important day in the Jewish calendar, which falls 10 days after Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Yom Kippur focuses on setting intentions for the year ahead, as well as repenting for the sins of the year before, and is commemorated with a day-long fast.

The day begins at sunset on Wednesday 15 September and is observed for 25 hours.

The University of Westminster wishes our community a blessed Yom Kippur to all of our students, colleagues, alumni and friends who are observing.
