The University of Westminster joins the nation to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, which is a day to remember those who lost their lives for who they were and to stand against prejudice and hatred.
The theme of this year's event is Ordinary People, to highlight the ordinary people who let genocide happen, the ordinary people who actively perpetrated genocide, and the ordinary people who were persecuted. It will prompt us to consider how ordinary people can perhaps play a bigger part in challenging prejudice today.
Individuals can share their thoughts and Light the Darkness by lighting a candle and safely putting it in a window at 4pm on 27 January to remember those who lost their lives and stand against prejudice and hatred.
Each year across the UK on Holocaust Memorial Day, thousands of people come together to learn more about the past and take action to create a safer future.
