The ABC prize recognises student reflections at the end of their second semester group project, where students have to raise money for a charity of their choice by coming up with ideas to attract donations. This year, the students have chosen the Transparent Hands charity which provides financial assistance for medical treatment in Pakistan and raised £3,375.

The winners were announced at an award ceremony at Marylebone Campus in December 2022, attended by students, the teaching team, and representatives of the ABC. Each winner was congratulated and received a certificate from the Consortium’s Managing Director, Mwaka Lungu.

Winners per categories included:

Best Dissertation Project:  Bikramjit Turna

Projects with special commendation: Sofia Fiallega, Rania Hamid and Jessica Ngongo

Best Agile Coursework: Camila Barrera, Yoshaan Hariparsaad and Sophie Schutzbach

Best Agile Leadership Reflection: Zakwan Ahmed, Temitope Oyenubi and Yoshaan Hariparsaad

After receiving the shortlist from the teaching team, the ABC selected the winners based on academic excellence, industry relevance and innovation. In addition to the monetary prize, each winner received an electronic badge, which can be attached to their LinkedIn profile, highlighting the achievement to current and future employers.

Bikramjit Turna’s dissertation project was awarded for his investigation of the role of the agile project management approach in telecom projects.

Talking about the prize Bikramajit said: “I feel happy and honoured to have my research work acknowledged by ABC. I wish to thank all the academic team from the Project Management MSc course for their invaluable support and for sharing their knowledge that equipped me with all the learning to succeed in future. I wish to appreciate the hard work of our course leader Dr. Nadia Amin, for creating an environment of success and new opportunities for the Project Management students at the University.”

The ABC is an independent professional body dedicated to advancing business agility worldwide, supporting the development of professionals, providing access to a range of contents, events, and networking opportunities, while engaging in research, thought leadership, and market-wide collaborations. The Consortium is also behind one of the most popular project management certifications, the AgilePM® certificate.

Through its collaboration with the University, the ABC enables free access to the Consortium’s membership, resources, events and regular guest speakers for all Project Management MSc students.

“The awards represent a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate what they learned about project management and to apply the knowledge to coursework and research projects. It was a privilege for students to have their work judged by key agile practice body in UK.  The tutors on the course teaching team were delighted to receive many positive comments from ABC practitioners about the standard of students’ work,” said Dr Nadia Amin, Course Leader of the Project Management MSc course.
