The article explains how the Culture Secretary’s intervention – in the form of a letter to Ofcom’s chief executive Melanie Dawes - has been seen by some MPs as threatening Ofcom’s independence, whilst others warn of retaliatory measures from Moscow should RT’s licence be revoked, such as the expulsion of UK journalists from Russia.
