The article explores how frozen zoos, which are large repositories containing genetic samples from rare and endangered species, can be key to saving endangered animals by allowing scientists to clone them and revive their populations.

Explaining how increasing genetic diversity in a species through cloning can increase a species’ chances of survival, Professor Noble is quoted as saying: "In a species of animals, the genetic diversity is what gives it its resilience, its ability to bounce back from natural catastrophes, virus attacks, disease attacks. That's because if there are more different types of genetics in a species, there is a higher chance that some will survive."
