Anoushka Pacquette, 2020 alumnus of the Interior Architecture BA Honours course, has won Graduate of the Year at the British Council for Offices (BCO) NextGen Awards 2022 at the Bloomsbury Big Top on 23 November 2022.
Anoushka was awarded Graduate of the Year for her outstanding contribution both at her employer, WILL+ Partners, and across the wider industry. Anoushka works as an Interior Designer at WILL+ Partners, a leading workplace design and strategy organisation. The BCO recognised Anoushka’s work ethic, organisation of community activities and passion for innovative, sustainable design solutions. Having only graduated from Westminster in 2020, Anoushka was commended for demonstrating a professionalism beyond her experience. Anoushka’s design work focuses on human experience, wellbeing and sustainability, in her pursuit of diverse and welcoming workplaces for all.
Anoushka’s success at the BCO NextGen Awards follows her previous achievement in the BCO NextGen Ideas Project in June, where she was a winner for the design, research and development of her Digital Detox Zone concept to support wellbeing in the workplace.
Anoushka became interested in the concept of a ‘Digital Detox Zone’ during her time at the University of Westminster, and she has continued to extend and develop her research through the WILL Academy alongside her work as an Interior Designer at WILL+Partners.
Anoushka said: “Architecture & Design is such a vast and boundless industry, with so many creative and innovative minds. Westminster paved the way for me entering the field of Interior Architecture and provided me with a strong foundation and skillset, which lead me onto working at WILL+Partners.
“My time at WILL + Partners has taught me so much and provided me with new skills for both design and wellbeing and shaped me into the designer I am today, which I’m truly grateful for. Through the WILL Academy I have been able to push and develop my ideas and create well-thought-out designs, which I have been privileged to see through from initial concept through to completion. Being a part of this world and sharing my ideas in industry is truly amazing.”
The BCO NextGen Awards are run by the British Council for Offices – Britain’s leading forum for the discussion and debate of issues affecting the office sector - and recognise the accomplishments and contributions of under-35s in the UK commercial property sector, awarding exceptional graduates and young executives as well as graduate employers. The Awards are the culmination of the BCO NextGen scheme, which enables young professionals to build contacts, share ideas and develop knowledge as they progress through the early stages of their careers.
In their seventh year, the 2022 NextGen Awards were the most successful in the event’s history with over 400 attendees and a newly created award to recognise Diversity and Inclusion in the sector.
