Dr Ioannis Glinavos, Senior Lecturer in Law and e-learning specialist, has been featured in two video explainers by Times Higher Education (THE) Campus about how researchers can use research metrics to amplify their work.
The first video provides an introduction to individual research metrics and talks about how researchers can discover how their own profile and data are represented online.
Introducing the first video, Dr Glinavos said: “Let us start with some simple questions. Are your research papers visible to their intended audience? Do you know what information is available online about you as a researcher? Do you wish to improve the visibility of your research, enhance your impact and elevate institutional metrics in your university’s league table position?
“While research outputs themselves are part of one’s broader employment relationship and career objectives, their online visibility is dependent on additional actions by each researcher.”
In the second video explainer, Dr Glinavos talks researchers through the steps that they can take to improve their research data and elevate the visibility of their work.
Speaking about the value of this process, Dr Glinavos said: “This is admittedly a time-consuming effort, but the result of engaging with it will be much more improved visibility of your output and, ultimately, a better chance of achieving real-world impact.”
