The Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture is pleased to share its November news.
We were delighted to host Lemn Sissay OBE who gave a reading of his magnificent memoir My Name is Why and took part in a discussion with Sally Ann Gross and a Q&A. View the full news story.
The Entertainment Law LLM team also arranged for a student field trip to Manchester to see the Use Hearing Protection exhibition. The exhibition focuses on the unique approach Factory Records adopted and its privileging of the artistic over commercial considerations. Students across the LLB and LLM who are studying Entertainment Law came on what was an excellent trip, which was kindly sponsored by Westminster Law School.
Work continued on our National Lottery Heritage Funded project, with 30 students having now completed oral history training and the first oral history interviews, including fantastic ones with Hanif Kuresihi, Ann Mitchell and Jamal Ali have been conducted. More on this project as it progresses.
