Rosh Hashana is the Jewish New Year, meaning “head of the year” or “first of the year”. It is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days.

Rosh Hashana commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, the second High Holy Day in the Jewish religion.

The celebrations this year begin on the evening of Sunday 25 September and will end on Tuesday 27 September.

Shana Tova to all of our colleagues, students, alumni and community members celebrating.
