Yom Kippur translates to ‘Day of Atonement’ and is considered to be the most important day in the Jewish calendar. It falls 10 days after Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, and focuses on setting intentions for the year ahead, as well as repenting for the sins of the year before. It is commemorated with a 25-hour long fast.

The day begins at sunset on Tuesday 4 October and is observed until nightfall on Wednesday 5 October.

Gmar Chatima Tova to all of our students, colleagues, alumni and friends who are observing.
