Entry requirements
Applying for a course
If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.
We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.
For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have one of the following:
- Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) – The Malaysia Higher School Certificate with grades A-D on a subject-by-subject basis
- Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle Level with a minimum of 75% in more than two subjects
- Polytechnic Diploma (3 year post SPM/SPMV)
- Polytechnic Technician Certificate with high grades
- Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate) GPA 2.0 or above depending on subject
- College Diploma/Certificate (2/3 year post SPM) with high grades
- Tunku Abdul Rahman College Certificate (2 year post SPM)
- a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%
- Successful completion of 1 year at a recognised university in Malaysia with a good grade
- A Levels or International Baccalaureate – check our course pages for details of these
For consideration for entry into Year 2 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 5) you will typically need to have one of the following:
- Institut Teknologi MARA Diploma (3 year post SMP/STPM) with GPA 2.8 or above
- Tunku Abdul Rahman College Diploma (3 year post STPM)

Applying for a course
If you are interested in studying for a Master's degree (eg MA, MSc or LLM) or research programme (eg MPhil or PhD) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

You will typically need to have the following qualification:
- Malaysian Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with a minimum GPA of 2.5 for courses requiring a UK 2:2 degree, or 2.8 for those requiring a UK 2:1 degree
Applicants with STPM College Diploma plus three to five years relevant work experience may also be considered on an individual basis for some Master's programmes.
